Dana Shelton

Dana Tallent Shelton age 72 of Athens passed away, Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Parkwest Medical Center.

A native of Monroe County and resident of Athens most of her life she was a daughter of the late Guffey and Elsie Buckner Tallent and was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Tallent; sister, Mae Shattles, 2 Sisters Evalena Moses and Lela Tallent, Infant Sister, Janice Tallent.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors:

Husband of 51 years Charles Shelton;

Daughter, Christine Crisp of Birchwood;

2 Sons, Randy Shelton of Athens and Darrell (Robin) Shelton of Etowah;

Sisters, Rachel Jones, Virginia Dodson, Ivalena Robinson, Helen Winder

3 Brothers, Tommy Tallent, Larry Tallent and Carey Tallent

3 grandchildren, Courtney Crisp, Ryan Crisp and Jackson Shelton;

2 great grandchildren, Savanna and Hanna

A host of nieces, nephews and special friends;

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 17, 2024 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Martin Bowlin officiating.

Interment will follow at Short Creek Cemetery. The will receive friends from 12:00 -2:00 PM prior to the service in the chapel.
