Cynthia Diane George

Cynthia Diane Watson George age 68 of Riceville passed away Monday, July 13, 2026 at Starr Regional Medical Center-Athens.

A former resident of Calhoun and current resident of Riceville she was a daugter of the late Wayne and Wanda Sue Horner Watson and was preceded in death by her husband Terry George.

She was a beloved teacher at McMinn County High School where she taught Math for 20 years. She was of the Christian Faith and had become very spiritually driven over the last six months.

Sister, Susan Bishop of Calhoun

Brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Rosetta Watson of Calhoun

Nephews, Jason Bishop and Andrew Watson;

Several Cousins

Funeral Service will be 3:00 PM Saturday, July 18, 2026 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Don Woody officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
