CREED FOSTER BOHANNON, JR., age 81 entered his new home, Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at his residence. Known by his friends as "Bo" he was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, a son of the late Creed F. Bohannon and Zora Lee Bohannon and preceded in death by his Brother-in-law: Milton Simpson, cousin James E. Murphy, who was closer than a brother and Nephew, Kelly Thomas. He was a veteran of the Army with the Tennessee National Guard and member of Clearwater Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter, love to take a day off from farming to relax at a pond or creek bank to fish. In his younger days he was an avid water skier pulling his buddies around Watts Bar Skier Lake with his boat on Sunday afternoons. His occupation was farming and hard work never bothered him. He was a storyteller who had lots of stories to tell.

Survivors: Wife of 55 years: Margaret Cantrell Bohannon of Athens, Tenn., Son and daughter-in-law: Mitchel Lee and Cindy Holliday Bohannon of Athens, Tenn., Grandsons: Samuel Bohannon, Boaz Bohannon and Eli Holliday, Many sons came to the farm to work: His Eldest, James Hennessee, Harold Lynn, and many other young men who keep in touch. Sister: Judy Bohannon Simpson of Athens, Tenn., Nieces: Jody Simpson (Steve) Dake, Jana Simpson Thomas (Michael) Grose, Great nieces and nephews who loved "Uncle Bo" : Sarah, Jenny, Julia, and Jamin Dake, Keljan, Kenton, Janelle, Joelle, Kelsa Ana Thomas.

Graveside services will be held 12:00 Noon Friday in Clearwater Cemetery with Rev. Greg Hutsell and Rev. Martin Bowlin officiating. There will be no formal visitation. Active pallbearers will be Mitchel Bohannon, Sam Bohannon, James Hennessee, Kevin Snyder, David Rountree, and Steve Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Estes, His best man through life, Richard Janow, Charles Thompson, James Earl Slack, Glenn Davis, Tim Howard, and Danny Hughes.
