Conrad L. Brooks, age 87 of Athens, passed away, Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at Parkwest Medical Center. He had a difficult time hearing on this Earth but to think the first voice he was able to hear loud and clear was a voice that he knew instantly saying "Well done though good and faithful servant."
A native of Fentress County and resident of McMinn County most of his life, he was a son of the late Charlie R. and Naomi Norman Brooks, and was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Ila Hull and Lola Brooks; son-in-law, Tracy Buckner; 1 step-grandson, Caleb Butler.
He was a member of Athens Church of the Nazarene and served several years as treasurer and loved his church and church family. He was formerly employed as a CPA with Severance and Sharp and was retired from the Bowater accounting department after more than 20 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors:
His wife of 63 years, Marimon C. Hull Brooks;
1 daughter, Lisa Buckner and special friend Tim Howard of Athens;
1 Son, Edwin and Phyliss Brooks of Athens;
2 Granddaughters and 1 grandson, Megan Buckner, Jennifer Matthews

Step grandson, Nick Hester;
1 great-granddaughter
3 step great-grandchildren.
A niece and a nephew;
Funeral Services will be 7:00 PM EST Saturday, December 28, 2019 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Rev. David Reynolds. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM EST Saturday prior to the service at the funeral Home.
There will also be a funeral service at 2:30 PM CST Sunday, December 29, 2019 at the Pleasant View Church of the Nazarene in Allardt, Tennessee with Rev. Sam Woods. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 PM CST Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Fellowship Cemetery.
