Clifford Elliott

CLIFFORD ELLIOTT,  age 91 of Athens, Tenn. passed away Thursday, July 11, 2019 in Star Regional Medical of Athens, Tenn. He was a native and resident most of his life of McMinn County, Tenn., a son of the late James Earl and Mary Glenna Carroll Elliott, and preceded in death by Two Sons: Phillip Elliott and William Eugene Elliott,  Sister: Francis Crittenden, Brother: Edward Elliott. He was a retired employee of Federal Bureau of Prisons and was a member of Sewee Church of God. He was a 32 Degree Mason, member of Meridan Sun Lodge #50 F&AM.  He was a World War II Veteran having served in the U. S. Army.

Survivors include

  • Wife of 68 years: Joan Ellen Goins Elliott of Athens, Tenn.
  • Three  Sons and daughters-in-law: Alvin and Linda Ware of Stanton, Va. James Clifford and Sherry  Elliott of Niota, Tenn., Mark Alfred and Suzanne Elliott
  • Daughter: Rhonda Burke of Charleston, S. Carolina,
  • Three Brothers and sisters-in-law: Kenneth and Frankie Elliott of Athens, Tenn., Cecil and Betsy Elliott of Athens, Tenn., Donald and Joyce Elliott of Athens, Tenn.,
  • Sister and brother-in-law: Louise and Jack Kennedy of Athens, Tenn.,
  • 21 Grandchildren,
  • 24 Great Grandchildren,
  • 2 Great Great Grandchildren,
  • Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 16, 2019 in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral with Pastor Linda Parton officiating. Interment will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 17, 2019 in Sewee Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 Tuesday in the funeral home.
