Charles Kenneth "Kenny" Davidson, Jr.

Charles Kenneth Davidson, Jr. age 64 of Athens, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at his residence. He was a native and  lifelong resident of Athens. He was an Eagle Scout and worked as a Boy Scout leader  for many years. He was a member of American Legion and a  part of their color guard. He taught Sunday School and was a youth leader  at Allen Memorial United Methodist Church for many years. He loved to work and fix things and was often referred to as "Mr. Fix-It".  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served on the submarine  U.S.S. Francis Scott Key   and received two commendations for going above and beyond the call of duty. He loved to fish, and enjoyed trains and wood working. He worked all of his life for the family business Electric Motor Service. He was preceded in death by his father Charles Kenneth "Charlie" Davidson Sr. (March 3, 2011).

 Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Allen Memorial United Methodist with Jeff Roberts and  Rev. Charla Sherbakoff  officiating. The interment will follow at McMinn Memory Gardens. Active Pallbearers will be Rusty Taylor, Chris Moffitt, Jeff Roberts, Buck Williams, Jared Ziegler and Russ Davidson. The family will receive friends from 11am-1:00pm before the service at the church. Those unable to attend may send condolences to www.laycockhobbs.com/notices/Charles-Davidson. Laycock-Hobbs will be in charge of the arrangements.
