Carrie Lucy Brown

Carrie Lucy Brown, 84, of Athens, Tennessee returned to her heavenly home on July 22, 2018.  She was the daughter of Caleb and Rosie Johnkins. 
Lucy was blessed with a large and loving family.  She raised seven children; Calvin Walton, his wife Michelle and son Caleb; Sylvia Walton, daughter Danielle Jones and son James; Gail Walton, son Kelly; Orlando Walton; Dolphard Walton, sons Joshua and Michael; Greg Brown, his wife Vivian and sons Dakota and Dallas; Illya Brown, his wife Renee and daughters Taylor, Tori and Taryn.
Lucy is preceded in death by her husband Virgil Brown, brother Caleb and sisters Fannie and Janet Johnkins and Rosa Arnwine.  She will be fondly remembered by her three sisters, Josephine Johnkins, Tabitha Smith and Naomi Johnkins and brothers John Christian and Jerome Johnkins.  Lucy has countless great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.  
Lucy will forever be remembered for her loving spirit and contagious laugh.  She was a talented song-writer and singer.  She also quilted and proudly gifted her work to her family.  Lucy loved the Lord and now peacefully rests in His loving arms.
Viewing and funeral services in memory of Lucy will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., at the Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home, 521 N. Jackson Street, Athens, Tennessee, with Pastor Ivey Smith officiating. 

Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery at 1820 Highway 411 South, Etowah, TN 37331.

The family will be receiving friends and guests at the residence of Mitchell and Norma Brown at: 302 Canal Street, Athens, TN 37303 following the funeral services.

Pallbearers: Grandsons - James Walton, Kelly Walton, David Smith, Joshua Walton, Dakota Brown and Dallas Brown.

Flower Bearers: Nieces and cousins
