Billy Gene Womac

July 8, 1945 — April 28, 2026

Riceville, TN

Billy Gene Womac stepped from life into life eternal Tuesday April 28th at his home in Riceville, TN. Born to Tom and Jewel Womac in 1945 he was the second of six children. A graduate of Calhoun school he would go to work for Bowater where he labored with distinction and loyalty for 39 years.

He and his beloved wife, Judy (Renner) Womac, shared 61 years of love and devotion as they built their home and lives together in Riceville. In 1966 they welcomed their one son, Jeff Womac and then later would welcome their daughter in law Leslie to their family in 1989. Late in his life, Bill heeded the call of God upon his life to preach and became a licensed Baptist minister in 1990. Bill would spend the rest of his days trying to win people to Christ and His righteousness as best he could. He served his community with not only gospel messages but an always willing and able helping hand to any and all who asked, whether it was with lumber from his saw mill, or labor alongside a neighbor in need.

In recent years as his health began to slowly fade, Bill found great joy in the time spent with his family, namely his children, Jeff and Leslie, two grandchildren Paige (Jonathan) and Alex (Jessica), and two great grandchildren Sam and Andrew. He and Judy were both faithful in their attendance at Eastanallee Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, two brothers: Curtis Womac and Dan Womac. He is survived by his loving wife Judy, their son Jeff (Leslie), his two grandchildren Paige Jenkins (Jonathan) and Alex Womac (Jessica), his two great grandchildren Sam and Andrew Jenkins, his sister Mary Woody (Steve), and two brothers Tom (Sandra) and Vic (Joyce) along with a host of nieces, nephews.

Graveside services will be held at Spring Creek Methodist Cemetery, Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 11:00 with Rev. Jonathan S. Jenkins officiating. Alex Womac, Sam Jenkins, Andrew Jenkins, Michael Renner, Steve Woody, Scott Thompson, and Craig Hembry will serve as pall bearers.
