Beverly Kay Lones

Beverly Kay Patton Lones, 69, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026, while surrounded by her family. Beverly was born on January 28, 1956, in Peoria, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy E. and Annie K. Patton, and her sister, Emily Ann McCormick. She is survived by her husband of fifty years, David Lones and by her children and their spouses, Jonathan and Erin Lones of Macon, GA, Aaron and Ginny Lones of Bozeman, MT, and Ashley and Jonathan Allen of Jackson, Ml. In addition, she is survived by five grandchildren: Sarah Lones, Moira and Mattye Lones, and Everett and Patton Allen. She will also be missed by her lifelong friend, Denise Patterson.

Beverly was a sincere believer in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Currently her church membership is with Goodsprings Baptist Church near Etowah where she served faithfully as the pastor's wife. Those who knew Beverly are familiar with her compassionate and caring heart, her generous use of her gifts of mercy and hospitality, and her readiness to use her considerable cooking and baking skills, as well as her talent for design and decoration.

While Beverly excelled in a variety of areas, her greatest service was as a wife and mother, and as a pastor's wife. She loved her family fiercely and intensely. In many ways, they were her life. As a pastor's wife, her compassionate and caring heart was always in evidence.

Whether in caring for the sick or helping with church programs, or in lending a listening ear, Beverly was a model of genuine Christlike character.

A memorial service for Beverly is scheduled for Tuesday evening, January 20, 2026 at 7:00 P.M. in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given in her name to the Full Circle Medical Center for Women in Athens.
