Betty Ruth Millsaps

Betty Ruth Millsaps, age 76, of Athens went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Sweetwater Hospital. A native of Madisonville and a resident of McMinn County most of her life, she was the daughter of the late Dee and Floralice Isbill Watson. She was a member of Old Fashion Baptist Church and she loved to play the piano, attending church and tell others about Jesus.She loved to sing and now she is with the one she always sung about in that heavenly choir. 

She was preceded in death by:

  • Her husband William "Bud" Millsaps (January, 2017) ;
  • Three brothers, David Watson, Ray Watson and Bobby Watson.

Survivors include:

  • Son and  daughter-in-law; Donny and Robin Millsaps of Athens
  • Daughter and son-in-law Tina and Jeff Roberts of Athens.
  • 8 grandchildren,
  • 13 great-grandchildren.
  • Several nieces and nephews.
  • Two brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter and Brenda Watson of Madisonville, Harold and Jewel Watson of Madisonville.
  • Two Sisters and brother-in-law, Jane and Bobby Dailey of Madisonville, Faye Williams of Etowah.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Old Fashion Baptist Church in Niota with the Rev. Donny Millsaps and Rev. Aron Roberts officiating.

The body will lie-in-state one hour before the service at the church.

The interment will follow the service at Old Fashion Baptist Cemetery with the grandsons as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Saturday April 27, 2019 at the funeral home.
