Betty Jane Harmon

Betty Jane Powers Harmon, 85, of Decatur went home to be with her Lord on December 24, 2025. She was an active member of Clear Springs Baptist Church. She was employed with the K-Mart Corporation for 23 years until her retirement in 1999. Following retirement, she worked many years for the Piggly Wiggly in Decatur.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, George Lee Harmon who passed away June 1, 2025; her parents Clyde and Ruby Cantrell Powers; One brother Donald Powers; Two nephews, Steve and Brett Powers; and one Son-in-law, Carey Wilcox Jr.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law Tracy and Kathy Harmon. Two daughters and one son in law Lisa and Randy Farris and Laura Wilcox all of Decatur. Five grandchildren Lacey Harmon, Stephanie and Jeremy Malone, Zachary and April Farris, Nathan and Miranda Harmon and Daniel Farris. Five great-grandchildren Connor and Jayda Malone, Kinlee and Landon Sims, and Cohen Brooks Harmon arriving March 2026. One brother and two sisters-in-law, Jack and Francis Powers and Reba Powers. Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday, December 29, 2025 at Clear Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Darren Fansler and Ezra “Bo” Coleman officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church. Active pallbearers will be Joe Malone, JJ Monroe, Jamie Howard, Josh Flory, Jason Powers and Jeff White. Honorary pallbearer will be Jackie Powers representing Donald, Steve and Brett Powers. There will be a special place of honor for the Senior Ladies Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Clear Springs Baptist Church.
