Bernice Williams Elliott, age 93 of Athens, Tenn. passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Morning Pointe of Athens. She was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, Tenn., a daughter of the late George Ellis and Ortha Ellen Brown Williams, preceded in death by her husband: Hoyle Dickson Elliott, Sister: Laura Mae Huckabey, Three Brothers: Donald Williams, Daniel Willliams, and Boyd Williams . She was a banker for 59 years, having began her career with Farmers Bank in Englewood, Tenn. and retiring from Regions Bank. She was a member of the Liberty Hill Church of Christ. She was a member of Englewood Lions Club and past member of The Community Action Group of Englewood, Tenn. Special thanks to our Morning Pointe family as well as Kim Beck and Laken King of Hearth Hospice, who lovingly took care of our mother.
Four Daughters: Tawana (Larry) Hornaday of Shelbyville, Tenn., Kevia (Randy) Davis of Englewood, Tenn., Kamie (Steve) Lee of Campbellsville, Ky. and Mimi ( Hector) Angel of Cleveland, Tenn., Brother: Gary Williams of Athens, Tenn, Eight Grandchildren, Six Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 7:00 P.M. Monday in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Mike Williams and Nick Angel officiating. Interment will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday in Liberty Hill Cemetery with Steve Lee officiating. Active pallbearers will be Caleb Lee, Zach Bostic, Kaden Herrandez, Nick Angel, Hector Angel and Randy Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Hornaday, Skyler Hornaday, Hayden Barkley, Charles Kirk, and Steve Lee. The family will receive friends from 5-7 Monday in Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home.
