Bernice "Bunny" Greenfield

Bernice "Bunny"  Schaffer Greenfield of Athens passed away on Tuesday March 12, 2019 at her residence. She was a native of Massachusetts, a resident of Rhode Island and of Athens, TN since 1992.  She was a graduate of Hope High in Providence Rhode Island, and worked at Rhode Island Carbide Tool Company in Smithfield, RI for over 30 years as office manager, secretary and bookkeeper. She was member of Mizpah Temple in Chattanooga. Upon arriving in Athens, she became an avid walker visiting the merchants on her daily rounds. She was a member of AARP #3229, Eastern Star #159, Senior Friends, and a member and volunteer at the humane society. A volunteer at City Park School Reading Program for 8 years, a member and active volunteer at McMinn Senior Center, volunteer at Athens Regional Medical Center. She was a participant and volunteer at South Eastern Senior Olympics and a participant in "Cap for Kids" knitting program.

 Survivors;

  • Daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Ron Eibel of Niota
  • Grandchildren; Marcy Eibel of Murfreesboro,TN., Randy Eibel of Niota
  • Brother and sister-in-law, Arnold and Rhonda Schaffer of  Mass.
  • Cherished nieces and their families.

Private graveside services will be held Friday in Cedar Grove Cemetery with a visitation to follow from 1:00-3:00 P.M. Friday in the funeral home.
