Alice Ruth Turner

Alice Ruth Swafford Turner, age 90, of Athens passed away,Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Starr Regional Health and Rehabilitation in Etowah. A native and life long resident of  of McMinn County, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Denton (L. D.)  and Josie Belle Vincent Swafford.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Athens and was preceded in death by her husband Harold Clifford Turner (Oct.20, 2018) and brother Arnold Robert (Doc)  Swafford, Ernie Swafford. She was a former employee of Ridge Textile.

Survivors; Daughter and son-in-law;  Rebecca Lynne (Becky) and Stephen Mike  Huskey of Athens

One grandaughter: Renee Miklyn Huskey of Etowah, Tenn,.

a niece and a nephew.

Funeral services will be 7:00 P.M. Thursday, June 20, 2019 in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home Tim Ellis officiating. Interment will 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 21, 2109 in McMinn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-7 Thursday in the funeral home.
