February 24, 1956 ~ April 25, 2019 (age 63)

RICKY WAYNE ALLEN,  age 63 of Athens, Tenn. passed away Thursday, April 25, 2019, at his residence. He was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, Tenn., and  a son of the late Ross Melvin and Anna Ruth Moses Allen.  He was a former employee of McKheehan Chair Co., Athens Funiture, and was presently an employee of Tri County Center. He was a member of South Liberty Baptist Church and a member of Thomas A. Hamilton Masonic Lodge.

Survivors inclued:

  • His wife of 44 years: Connie L. Burns Allen of Athens, Tenn.,
  • Two Daughters and Son-in-law: Gwendolyn E. Allen of Cleveland, Tenn., and Rachael Denise and Daniel Carlton Deal of Athens, Tenn.
  • Two Grandchildren: Kelsey Ann Miller and Hannah Elizabeth Miller
  • Three Brothers: Jamie Scott Allen of Englewood, Tenn., Stephen Lynn Cowart, James Thomas Frye, Jr. of Engewood, Tenn.,
  • Two Sisters: Angela Renee Beasley of Athens, Tenn., Tina Michelle Huckabey of Athens, Tenn., 
  • Mother-in-law: Norma D. Vincent of Athens, Tenn.,
  • Sister-in-law and Husband: Teresa and David Womack of Athens, Tenn.,
  • Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 7:00 P.M. Monday, April 29, 2019 in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Watson officiating.

Interment will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 30, 2019 in McMinn Memory Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Scott Allen, Tommy Frye, Jr., Travis Allen, Keith Allen, Brandon Allen, and Daniel Deal. 

The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. Monday in the funeral home.
