Mary Francis (Watson) Gambill

June 17, 1946 ~ January 23, 2018 (age 71)

Mary Frances Gambill, age 71 of Athens passed away Tuesday , January 23, 2018 at her residence.  A native of Elkton, Virginia and a resident of McMinn County most of her life, she was the daughter of the late George Elmer Lamb and  Nina Virginia Watson.  She was a member of Antioch Church of Jesus Christ and was retired from Rocky Top Markets.

Preceded in death by:

  • Her brother Nelson Lamb.

Survivors;

  • Three daughters:  Patricia and Daniel Moses of Riceville, Trudy Shelton of Athens, Mary Lee Williamson of Scottsboro, Alabama.
  • One son:  Roy Lee Moses, Jr of Athens
  • Two sisters;  Carol Jean Kellum of Shanondoah, Virginia; Ruth and Ed Wood of Standardville, Va
  • 11 Grandchildren,
  • 10 Great-grandchildren.
  • Several nieces and nephews.

 Funeral services will be 7:00pm Thursday January 25, 2018 in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral home with the Rev. Roger Fairman and Rev. Roger Fairman II officiating.

The interment will be 11am Friday, January 26, 2017 at Hampton Cemetery in Englewood.

The pallbearers will be Joshua Moses Nathan Shelton, Bryan Moses, Dakota Moses, Daniel Moses and Roger Fairman II.

The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Thursday before the service at the funeral home.
