Jerry "Bruno" Gene Patterson, Sr.

December 11, 1939 ~ August 11, 2019 (age 79)

Jerry Gene "Bruno" Patterson, Sr., age 79 of Crossville, TN, went to be with the Lord Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. A native of McMinn County, and a resident of Crossville, he was the son of the late W. H. (Bill) and Lena Sylvester Patterson. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a Chaplain's Assistant and played for the football team.  He sang in a military quartet.  He was a golden glove boxer, an avid golfer and coached football for many years.  He was of the baptist faith and the choir director for Fairview Baptist Church for many years. He was a saleman for many companies until his retirement and loved music and singing.  He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Shelva Patterson, Roy Lee and Deannie Patterson and Earl Patterson.
Survivors include:

  • Wife of 60 years, Barbara Morgan Patterson of Crossville
  • Son and daughter-in-law; Jerry Gene "Bo" Jr.  and Starlet Patterson, of Franklin, TN
  • Two grandchildren, Ethan and Elizabeth Patterson
  •  Brothers and sisters-in-law; Darrell and Ann Patterson of Harrison, TN, Harrell (Panky) and Denise Patterson of Athens, TN, Brenda Patterson of Grand Prarie, TX
  • Several nieces and nephews.

 Memorial Service will be 6:00 PM Thursday, August 15, 2019 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Patterson and Dr. Jack Scallions officiating. The graveside service will be 11:00 AM Friday, August 16, 2019 at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 15, 2019 from 4-6pm before the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The American Heart Association, The American Kidney Foundation and the American Diabetes Association.
