Glen K. Jackson

June 15, 1948 ~ June 5, 2019 (age 70)

Glen K. Jackson, age 70 of Athens passed away, Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at U.T. Medical Center.

A native and life-long resident of McMinn County, he was a son of the late Ira Rufus and Margie Ann Elkins Jackson and was preceded in death by a sister Sara Robertson. 

He was a member of Valley Road Baptist Church and Owner and Operator of Jackson Construction.  He loved growing vegetables in his garden and sharing them with others and was very devoted to his family and friends.

Survivors include:

  • Wife of 37 years, Linda Frisbie Jackson;
  • 2 daughters and son-in-law, DeDe and Michael Priest of Athens, April Henderson of Athens
  • Adopted daughter, Bobbie Sue Maroney of Athens;
  • 2 adopted grandchildren, Rosemary Turner and Ariel Maroney;
  • Siblings and Spouses- Jimmy and Linda Jackson of Athens, Sylvia and Clyde Ingram of Athens, Ellen and Dick Collins of Athens, Charles and Sandra Jackson of Athens,  Twin sister Faye and Tim Wood of Ten Mile, Phyllis and Kenneth Hale of Decatur, Steve and Judy Jackson of Athens, Tony and Linda Jackson of Athens.
  • 2 Daughters of Sara Robertson, Donna Engeron and Cindy Gilliam.
  • Several other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Valley Road Baptist Church with the Rev. J.W. Smith, Rev. David Coffman and Rev. Jimmy Jackson officiating.  The body will lie-in-state from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM prior to the service at the church.  Interment will follow in Valley Road Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers will be his nephews and cousin.  Honorary pallbearers will be his nieces, other nephews and the rest of his family.
