Jack David Ledbetter, age 90 of Athens, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at his residence.
A native of Asheville, NC, former resident of Pickens, SC, and resident of Athens for the past 28 years, he was a son of the late, Williams S. and Dessie Hensley Ledbetter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Miriam Ledbetter; two brothers, William S. Ledbetter and Glen Ledbetter, and a sister, Lorrine Giles.
He was a member of Central Baptist Church and was retired from the Textile Industry where he worked as a technician. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in WW II.
Survivors: one son, David Ledbetter of Athens; two daughters and son-in-law, Kay Barilar of Etowah, Jackie and Jim Wicker of Loudon; four sisters: Betty Wilson, Doris Prator, Faye Jump and Martha Chambley, all of Asheville, NC; three grandchildren: Alan Taylor, Sara Hawthorne and Nicole Strom;
five great-grandchildren; Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Thursday, September 21, 2017 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Bernard officiating.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Friday, September 22, 2017 at McMinn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
