Wallis Lee Riddle, 75, of Athens, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, at Life Care Center of Athens.
A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was a son of the late Charles Lee and Verna Wallace Riddle. He was a taxi driver with B D Taxi from 1959 to 1970, and retired from Athens Furniture Company with 29 years service. He was of the Baptist faith, and was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Frances Allen.
Survivors include one sister and two brothers-in-law, Charlsie and Kenneth Langley of Athens, and Sam Allen of Aiken, S.C.; one nephew and spouse, Steve and Cindy Langley of Riceville; three nieces and spouses, Jennifer and Dennis Taylor of Cincinnati, Ohio, Angela and Hugh Skinner of Aiken, S.C., and Annette and Mike Johnson of Athens; three great-nieces, Lauren Monroe of Athens, and Brittany and Ashley Skinner of Aiken, S.C.; and one great-nephew, Luke Langley of Riceville.
Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Cedar Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Pete Mullins officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home.
