Tracy Lee Buckner, 38, of Athens, died Saturday, June 7, 2008, following a lengthy battle with cancer.

A native of and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was a former employee of Plastic Industries and a member of Parkway Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Aline Monroe and Andrew and Anna Lou Buckner.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa Brooks Buckner of Athens; one daughter, Megan Celeste Buckner of Athens; his parents, James E. and Maxine Monroe Buckner of Athens; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Conrad and Marimon Brooks of Athens; one brother and sister-in-law, Daniel Ray and Christy Buckner of Etowah; one brother-in-law and his wife, Edwin and Phyliss Brooks of Athens; nieces and nephews, Maison Buckner, Mavrick Buckner, Makinlee Buckner, Beau Brooks and Jennifer Brooks; and several uncles and aunts.

Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Helen Shaw officiating. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fellowship Cemetery in Armathwaite.

Pallbearers will be Edwin Brooks, Thomas Buckner, Carl Shaw, Randy Daugherty, Scotty Harris and Don Harris.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
