Sarah Lois "FiFo" Johnson Long, 56, of Athens, died Thursday, May 29, 2008, at Life Care Center of Athens, where she had been a resident for seven years.

A native of McMinn County, and a daughter of the late John Louis and Amy Dickerson Johnson, she was preceded in death by one sister, Frances W. Freeman. She was a member of St. Mark A.M.E. Zion Church.

Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, John and Debbie Johnson of Athens; one sister, Susan McBee of Athens; three sisters-in-law, Rica Mack and Linda Long, both of Athens, and Kayren Wilson of Chattanooga; two brothers-in-law, Herman Freeman of Washington, D.C., and William Roy McBee of Athens; an uncle and aunt, Thomas and Zelma Dickerson of Athens; four other aunts, Elinor Prater and Carol Harrison, both of Sweetwater, Augusta M. Witt of Athens, and Geraldine Ford of Nashville; one great aunt, Virginia Lee Cates of Athens; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends; a host of friends at Athens Life Care; and special devoted friends, Floyd Lovelace of Cleveland, and Effie King of Athens.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sarah Long Memorial Fund, c/o Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home.
