Phyllis Alma Quisenberry Farris, 65, of Athens, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at her residence.
A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late James Philip and Ruth Walker Quisenberry. A member of Keith Memorial United Methodist Church, she was a registered nurse and formerly worked at Sweetwater Hospital, Life Care Center of Athens, the University of Tennessee Medical Center, Bradley Memorial Hospital and Cleveland Community Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Marvin K. Farris of Athens; her beloved dog, Katy; one stepdaughter and husband, Kelly and Joe Noble, and their daughter, Amy Noble, all of Athens; one sister and brother-in-law, Ruth Ann and Lawrence Cameron of Madison; one niece and husband, Cynthia Marie and Charlie Morgan of Chester, Va.; one nephew and wife, James Philip and Suzy Cameron of Springfield; one great-niece, Ariel Tucker; one great-nephew, Cody Tucker; and special neighbors, Paul and Virginia Looney.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Hubble officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Dan Bettis, Sam Bettis, Ben Graves, Jim Blackwell, Benjamin Graves and Glen Bettis.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
