Paris Vaughn Graves, age 76, of Athens, Tenn. died Thursday, January 17, 2008, in Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center.
A native of Union County, Tennessee, raised in Meigs County, Tenn. and resident of McMinn County for 49 years, he was a son of the late Will and Iva Sharp Graves and was preceded in death by his son, Eric Graves, and brother, Fred Graves.
He was a member of Clearwater Baptist Church, Meigs Lodge #213 F. & A.M., Athenian Chapter #159 O.E.S., and was a former employee of Bowater as a Plant Operator.
Survivors: Wife of 54 Years: Jewell Newman Graves of Athens, Tenn. Daughter and Son-in-law: Kimberly and Carey Brown of Savannah, GA. Brothers and Sister-in-law: Paul Graves of Decatur, Tenn. Haul and Donna Graves of Decatur, Tenn. Grandaughter, Mary Kathleen "Katie" Brown of Savannah, GA. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 3:00 P. M. Sunday in Clearwater Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in Clearwater Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Saturday at Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home, Athens. Masonic services will follow visitation Saturday evening by Meigs Lodge #213.

The body will lie in state at the church from 2-3 P.M.on Sunday.
