Paul Reed Bryant, 58, of Riceville, died Saturday, July 12, 2008, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was preceded in death by his father, Reed Bryant; one infant daughter, April Marie Bryant; and one brother, Bud Bryant. He was an iron worker, and a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church No. 2.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Teresa Bryant of Riceville; one daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Chris Withrow of Charleston; his mother, Ersa Duckett Bryant of Calhoun; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Jim Hicks and Allene and Gene Melton, all of Calhoun, and Linda and Claude Womac and Joan and Jerry Jones, all of Riceville; four grandchildren, Haley and Paisley Bryant and Logan and Christina Withrow; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Garry King officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Mike Jones, Bryan Jones, Mark Melton, Tyler Richesin, Randy Peterson and Josh Powell. Honorary pallbearers will be DeWayne Jones and J.P. and Jim Wright.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
