::Nola B. Wall Wallace::

Nola B. Wall Wallace,  age 91 of Niota, Tennessee died Tuesday, January 15, 2008, in Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Mrs. Wallace was born September 8, 1916 in Cocke County, Tennessee to the late Sankey D. Wall and Dora Mae Campbell Wall. 

After the premature death of mother, Nola B. moved to Niota to be raised by her grandmother, Amanda Campbell.  Nola B. attended Union Grove School, where she played basketball, a sport she loved.  She married William Ford Wallace on November 25, 1937.Nola B., her husband, Ford, and their daughter, Lorene lived in Santa Paula, California from 1944 to 1948 and their daughter, Mary Lee was born in Santa Paula.  They returned to Niota and settled on the family home place in 1948, where Nola B. and Ford remained until Ford's death in 1992. 

Nola B. loved cooking, sewing, crocheting, gardening, watching her children grow, and going on long walks with her husband.  Nola B was a member of the Niota United Methodist Church and worked several years at the Niota Textile Mill. 

After Ford's death, she moved to Greensboro, North Carolina to be in Lorene's care and later moved to Blumenthal Jewish Nursing Home in Greensboro. 

Nola B was preceded in death by three brothers, Alvin C. Wall, T. J. Wall, and Guy H. Wall, all of White Pine, Tennessee; her husband, William Ford Wallace, who died December 16, 1992; and a grandson, Adrian Ford Arceo of Tacoma, Washington, who died on October 12, 1991.

Survivors: Daughters and son-in-law: Mary Lee Arceo of Salisbury, NC. and Lorene W. and Robert Thomas of Greensboro, NC.  Grandchildren: Nicole Thomas Hodges, John Wallace Thomas, and Heather Arceo.  Great-grandchildren: Kayla Belvin Thomas,  Emily Hodges, Taylor Hodges, Jacki Arceo, Jordan Arceo, and Jacob Arceo.

Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M. Saturday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Rev. Ogle Wattenbarger and Rev. Paul Miracle officiating.

Interment will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens.  Pallbearers will be Jerry Wallace,  Wiley Wallace,  Jimmy Wallace,  Robert Thomas,  John Thomas,  and John Hodges.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 A.M. to 1:15 P.M. before the service at Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home in Athens, TN.
