Nena \"Nina\" Elizabeth Francis Teague, 85, of Athens, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at NHC Health Care of Athens.

A native of Miller County, Ark., and a resident of Athens since 1953, she was a daughter of the late Thad and Carrie Ada Moses McDowell, and was preceded in death by her husband, Denzil Curtis Teague, on Feb. 24, 1991; one daughter, Norma Jewell Teague; three sisters; and seven brothers. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Cheryl Teague of Athens; one grandson and wife, Aaron and Chrissy Teague of Cleveland; two great-grandchildren, Christianna Teague and Jacob Teague; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at McMinn Memory Gardens with Chaplain Greg Harper officiating.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Teague, Darrell Johnston, J.T. McDowell, Richard Greene and Shane Watkins.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home.
