MARLIN RAY LOWE, age 61 of Athens, Tennessee died Friday, August 17, 2007, in Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.

A native of Monroe County, former resident of Cleveland, he had  resided in Athens since 1982. Marlin was a car enthusiast and for the last ten years built and restored antique and collector automobiles.  He attended Phillipi Baptist Church in Cleveland.  He was a former employee of Beene-Wilson Construction Company. 

He was preceded in death by his father, William "Bill" Lowe; and grandparents, George & Geneva Lowe and France and Verlie Cogdill.

Survivors: Wife, Lorie Lee Miller Lowe of Athens, TN.  Mother, Irene Cogdill Lowe of Philadelphia, TN.  Daughter & son-in-law: Jennifer Rae & Stacy Miller of Athens, TN.  Son & daughter-in-law: Marlin Andrew "Andy" and Karla Lowe of Ringgold, GA. Sisters & brothers-in-law: Viva & Wayne Arden of Loudon, TN.  Wanda & Chester Evans of Cleveland, TN.  Brother & sister-in-law: David & Suzanne Lowe of Lansing, MI. Grandchildren: Amanda Rae Miller,  Ryan Andrew Lowe, Tamara Bianca Lowe, Chastity Faye Lowe,   Rebecca Lee Lowe, Brittany LeAnne Lowe and Benjamin Scott Patterson.  Several nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.

Memorial services will be 8:00 P.M. Sunday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Hooker officiating.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6-8 P.M., with casual attire requested for the visitation and service.
