Linda Carol Hicks Cranfield, 63, of Ringgold, Ga., died Friday, July 25, 2008, of a massive heart attack.

A native of Roane County, a former resident of Trenton, and resident of Ringgold, Ga., for the past two years, she was a daughter of the late James Martin and Mabel Tate Hicks, and was preceded in death by one son, James Travis Cranfield, on March 15, 2001; and two brothers, Billy Tate and Paul Tate. She was dearly loved by her friends and family. She was a member of Berea Baptist Church in Trenton and was an employee of Bailey\'s Bar-B-Que in Ringgold, Ga.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Treva and Greg Maitland and their children, Syler Maitland and Sydney Maitland, all of Trenton, and Tracie and Jason Little and their children, Remington Little and Kaitlyn Little, of Kenton; five brothers, Mitchell Hicks of Marion, Ky., Bill Hicks of Clinton, Charles Hicks of Tulsa, Okla., Leon Hicks of Seymour, and Farrell Hicks of Gruetli-Laager; two sisters, Brenda Patterson of Ringgold, Ga., and Geneva Logan of Etowah; the father of her children, Bud Cranfield of Trenton; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were 8 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Jackson officiating.

The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
