Mr. Leslie Ray Vaughn, age 64, of Athens, Tenn. went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at his residence.

A native and life-long resident of McMinn County he was a son of the late Harrison Lee and Agnes Matthews Vaughn and was preceded in death by his Wife of 46 years, Bettye Ables Vaughn on March 13, 2008; a son, Christopher Vaughn; grandson, Christopher Howard; sister, Deliah Mae Stringer and brother, Oliver Lee "Pete" Matthews.

He was self-employed as a stone mason and was a member of River Worship Center.

Survivors: Four Daughters and Sons-in-law: Kelly and Charles Sutton of Athens, Tenn.  Angie and Aaron Decker of Athens, Tenn.  Missy and L.T. Cantrell of Athens, Tenn.  Michelle and Jimmy Overby of Ewing, KY.  Seven Grandchildren: Joshua Martin, Matthew Martin, Emily Decker, Christian Decker, Rachel Cantrell, Rocky Howard and Kim Howard.  Three Great-grandchildren.  One Brother and Sister-in-law: Arvil and Jeanne Vaughn of Belvidere, Illinois.  Two Sisters and Brother-iin-law: Bernice and Frank Parton of Crossville, Tenn.  Lillian Bledsoe of Ft. Myers, FL.  Two special friends:  Wayne McDonald and Ulyss Swafford.  Several Nieces and Nephews.

Memorial Services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 8, 2008 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Spear officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 P.M. Saturday before the service at the funeral home.
