REV. LEE ARTHUR STANSBERRY, age 80 of Athens, Tennessee woke up in heaven Wednesday morning, April 25, 2007, at his residence.
He was a native of Knoxille, Tennessee, resident of McMinn County, Tennessee for 30 years and was a son of the late Jospeh and Ida Law Stansberry. He was a Pastor for severval Churches for over 50 years including Byrd's Chapel Wesley Methodist Church and Beulah's Chapel where he was a member and named Pastor Emirates. He was a retired employee of TVA and Park Crest Apts. and was a veteran of World War II having served in the U. S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by a son: James Stansberry. Survivors: Wife of 60 years: Margaret Ann Haley Stansberry of Athens, Tenn. Son: Steve Stansberry of Athens, Tenn. Three Daughters: Janella Robison of Athens, Tenn. Suzette Johnson of Athens, Tenn. Sandra Elliott of Knoxville, Tenn. Sixteen Grandchildren: Shawn Robison, Kim Bowers, Lisa Malone, Jamie Ericksen, Brian Stansberry, Lee Stansberry, Angie Stansberry, Jason Foresyth, Kelsey Johnson, Justin Johnson, Jessica Antonio, Patrick Stansberry,Sonia Pressley, Chris Jenkins, Brad Jones and Kristi Watson. Twenty Great Grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 8:00 P. M. Friday in Beulah's Chapel with Rev. Bill Dawson, Rev. Justin Nave and Rev. Jon Amspaugh officiating.
Interment will be 12:00 Noon Saturday in Beulah's Chapel Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Grandsons: Shawn Robison, Brian Stansberry, Lee Stansberry, Jason Foresyth, Justin Johnson, Patrick Stansberry, Chris Jenkins and Brad Jones.
The family will recieve friends at the Church from 6-8 Friday.
