Karen Austin Headrick, age 55, of Knoxville, TN died Wednesday April 30, 2008 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center.

She was a native of Athens, Tennessee and lived in Knox County for the past 2 years. She was a supervisor for the Department of Child Protective Services and a former member of Keith United Methodist Church.

Survivors: Father: Edward Julian Austin of Marion, NC.  Mother: Jean Evelyn Austin of Marion, NC.  Son: Ryan Seth Cranfield of Knoxville, TN.  One daughter and son-in-law: Ashley and Chris Cumming of Knoxville, TN.  Brothers and sisters-in-law: Kevin and Robin Austin of Marion, NC.  Steve and Jan Austin of Talking Rock, Ga.  Two grandsons; Bryson Cade Cranfield and Austin Edward Cummings.

Memorial service will be 7:00pm Friday, May 2, 2008 in chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00pm before the service.
