James Larry Womac, 61, of Calhoun, died Thursday, April 17, 2008, at Athens Regional Medical Center.

A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was preceded in death by his father, Paul H. Womac, on Aug. 26, 1995; and two brothers, George Scott Womac and Thomas Edward Womac. He was an employee of Athens Furniture and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother, Vivian Newton Womac of Calhoun; one daughter, Candy Harris; one grandson, Tyler Harris; one sister, Linda Ferry of Decatur; one brother, Paul Dean Womac of Calhoun; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Friday at Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Roberta Chapel officiating. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Womac Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Ferry, Tony Phillips, Richard Welch and Michael Henry.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
