Isabel Goodwin "Izzie" Cawood, 88, of Riceville, died Sunday, May 25, 2008, at her residence.

She was a native of Bradley County, and a resident most of her life of McMinn County. A daughter of the late John Robert and Myrtle Mae Lawson Goodwin, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Cawood; three brothers, Ivan Goodwin, Paul Goodwin and Lavon Goodwin. She had worked with handicapped children in the McMinn County School System and was involved in earlier years with the 4-H Club and Girl Scouts. She was a member of Riceville First Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Tony Cawood of Riceville; three granddaughters, Tonesa Cawood, Tritina Forde and Talania Cook; five great-grandchildren, Alex, Garrett, Cameron, Brady and Aspen Cook; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Roach and Les Moss officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Riceville Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Phillip Forde, Jeff Cook, Les Moss, Gary and Mickey Goodwin and David and Chris Cawood.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
