Irene Jackson, 67, of Athens, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 5, 2008, at her residence.
She was a native and resident for most of her life of McMinn County, and was a daughter of the late Hoyle and Edna Ruth Hampton Dennis. She was retired from Johnson Controls, and was a member of Clearwater Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah Woods; one son, Charles Richard \"Ricky\" Jackson; and two brothers, Reed and George Dennis.
Survivors include her husband, William Clayton Jackson of Athens; three grandchildren, Misty Richesin, Joshua Lynn Jackson and Amber Patterson; three brothers and three sisters-in-law, Creed and Linda Dennis and Raymond Dennis, all of Athens, Charles and Mae Dennis of Niota, and JoAnn Jackson of Athens; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Mary Ruth and Ransom Womac of Niota, and Ruby Walden of Spring City; five great-grandchildren, Nicholas Richesin, Caylie Jackson, Hunter Jackson, Abi Patterson and Jesse Richesin; and several nieces and nephews and many loving friends.
Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Couch officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Clearwater Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Mike Glover, Brandon Glover, Ross Ingram, Clint Swafford, David Hooper, Jamie Richesin, Daniel Howard, Eric Congiolosi and Heath Patterson.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
