Frances Willard Johnson Freeman, 65, of Athens, died Thursday, April 10, 2008, at her residence.

A native and resident for most of her life of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late John Lewis and Amy Eloise Dickerson Johnson. She was a member of St. Mark\'s A.M.E. Zion Church.

Survivors include her husband, Herman J. Freeman of Washington, D.C.; one daughter, Karen Freeman of Athens; one son and daughter-in-law, Daryl and Denise Freeman of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; one brother, John F. Johnson of Athens; two sisters, Linda McBee and Sarah Long, both of Athens; two grandchildren, Amy and Kristeena Freeman; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hammonds Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
