Dorothy Marie Wagner Danner, 86, of Athens, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, at Athens Regional Medical Center.

She was a native of Cumberland County, Pa., a former resident of Manchester, Pa., and had been a resident of McMinn County since 1994. She was a daughter of the late Lester M. and Fannie Steffee Wagner, and was preceded in death by one brother, James Wagner. She retired from St. Regis Paper Company in 1983, and was a member of Athens First Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Raye Danner of Athens, and Tom and Sherl Danner of Norcross, Ga.; one daughter, Susan Smith of Villanova, Pa.; one sister, Peg Updegraff of York, Pa.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Skip Wisenbaker officiating. Burial will be Saturday in Union Cemetery in Manchester, Pa.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
