Dorothy Faye Hairell Cooke, formerly of Chattanooga, died Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at Etowah Health Care Center.

She was a native of McMinn County, a resident of Chattanooga for 50 years, and was a daughter of the late Robert and Bertie Slack Hairell. She was a nurse at Foree Hospital and was of the Methodist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donovan Cooke; and her companion of 27 years, Herschel P. Jones.

Survivors include one sister, Ruby Hairell Barnett of Englewood; one nephew and his wife, Eddie and Wanda Barnett of Englewood; one niece and her husband, Shirley and Gordon Morgan of Englewood; four great-nephews; two great-great-nephews; and one great-niece.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Sunrise Cemetery with Travis Barnett officiating.

The family will receive friends at noon Thursday at the funeral home.
