Dollie Catherine Womac Vaughn, 86, of Athens, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, at Etowah Nursing Home.
A native and lifelong resident of Athens, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Mary Underwood Womac, and was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Louis Vaughn, on Aug. 3, 1989; one daughter, Judy Lovinggood; one son, J.D. Vaughn; three sisters, Martha Richardson, Arcie Lively and Edna Womac; and three brothers, Elbert Womac, Isom Womac and Frank Womac. She was a member of Athens Nazarene Church, and was a former employee of Fisher Hosiery Mill for 27 years.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jessie and Kim Vaughn of Niota; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirlet and Stanley Beavers and Cathie and Jimmy Crumley, all of Cleveland; four grandchildren, Jessica Martin, Adrian Lovinggood, Drey Crumley and Josh Crumley; and five great-grandchildren, MacAyla Crumley and Hayden Riley George Martin, Chase Morgan, Chandler Morgan and Ashley Carpenter.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Doyle Lloyd officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Drey Crumley, Josh Crumley, Michael Carpenter, Ryan Martin, Gary Armstrong and Justin Armstrong.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
