Mrs. Clementine Dereath "Baby" Gibson, age 83, of Athens, died Sunday, May 20, 2007 at Life Care Center of Athens.

A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a born on July 4, 1923 to the late Henry Arthur and Catherine Payne Walker and was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel "Sleepy" Gibson on January 28, 1987; twin brother, Harry Quinton Walker; brother, Jonathan Spriggs Walker; Grandparents: Patrick and Jane Spriggs and Alice Webb, brother-in-law, John Henry Peck; and 2 nephews, Eddie Carver Jackson and William Ross Jackson.

She was a member of ST. Mark's A.M.E. Zion Church and a former sales clerk at Cherokee Hardware.  Survivors: Two Sisters: Edith Peck of Athens, Tenn.  Phyllis Jackson of Athens, Tenn.  Great-niece: Christian Marie Jackson.

Funeral services will be 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at ST. Mark's A.M.E. Zion Church with Rev. Herman Poindexter officiating. 

Interment will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday in Hammonds Cemetery.

The family will recieve friends at the church from 7:00 P. M. till 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the church.
