Christopher Michael Dyke, 33, of Athens, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Sunday morning, June 22, 2008.
He was a loving father, brother, son and a great friend to all who knew him. He was of the Baptist faith and was employed at Waupaca Foundry in Etowah. A native of Blount County, and a resident of McMinn County for most of his life, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Betty Walker of Crossville; his paternal grandparents, Lela Dawn and Walter Blain Dyke of Maryville; two uncles, Jack Dyke of Greenback, and Bobby Gene Dyke of Maryville; and one cousin, Todd Blain Dyke of Maryville.
Survivors include two sons, Christopher Baylee Dyke and Bradlee Austin Dyke, both of Athens; his father and stepmother, Bill \"Butch\" and Denise Dyke of Athens; his mother and stepfather, Jan and Paul King of Decatur; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Billy and Gloria Dyke of Riceville, and Jeremy Dyke of Athens; one sister, Lacie Dyke of Athens; and several aunts, uncles and cousins who will miss him, as well.
Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Couch and Joe Eaton officiating. Graveside services will be noon Thursday in McMinn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Dean Burman, Chad Williams, Darrell Smith, Rusty Smith, Gabe Vestal, Kelly Johnson, Wayne Tallent and Norm Eaton.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
