CHARLES W. CROFT, age 67 of Athens, Tenn. died Sunday, December 28, 2008, in Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens, Tenn.

A native and life long resident of McMinn County and was preceded in death by his Father, Reed Croft, a Brother-in-law,  Bob Howard, and Mother-in-law, Ruby Stephens.

He was the longest employee of J.L. Carver Chair Manufacturing Co. and retired from McKeehan Chair Manufacturing Co. and was a member of Niota United Methodist Church.

Survivors: Wife of 48 years, Betty Mae Stephens Croft of Athens, Tenn.  Mother, Marie Allen Croft of Athens, Tenn.  Son, William Scott Croft of Athens, Tenn.  Daughters and Sons-in-law, Donna and Ricky Crye of Athens, Tenn.  Debbie and Michael McDonald of Etowah, Tenn.  Denise and Scott Johnson of Athens, Tenn.  Christy and DeWayne Burger of Athens, Tenn.  Brothers and Sisters-in-law, Hershell and Joyce Croft of Englewood, Tenn.  Jerry and Carolyn Croft of Delano, Tenn.  Sisters and Brother-in-law, Girleen Howard of Athens, Tenn.  Juanita and Wayne Shell of Athens, Tenn.  Grandchildren and Spouse: Brandy and Jr. Henry, Tasha Maynard, Anthony Johnson, Joey Crye, Jessica Croft, Nathan Crye, and Alex McDonald.  Great-grandchildren: Amber Henry, Cameron Maynard, Caden Maynard, and Jaylon Croft.

Funeral Services will be 8:00 PM Tuesday, December 30, 2008 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Ogle Wattenbarger officiating.

Graveside Services will be 12:00 Noon Wednesday at Niota Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday at the funeral home.
