Carmen M. Dusseault, 70, of Athens, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, at SkyRidge Medical Center in Cleveland.

A native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, and a former resident of Johnson City and Sweetwater, she had been a resident of Athens since 1985. A daughter of the late Luis A. and Carmen Luisa Ferrer Migenis, she was preceded in death by one son, James \"Jim\" Anthony Wright, on June 29, 2005. She was a member of Christ Community Church and had served as secretary to the Graduate Dean at East Tennessee State University. She was employed by Tennessee Wesleyan College in the registrar office, East Tennessee Healthcare of Madisonville, as an administrator at Jonesboro Nursing Home and was a former secretary at Mars Hill Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Jake Swidan of Maryville; one brother, John W. Purcell of Lawrence, Kansas; one sister, Patricia Wilson of Lawrence, Kan.; four grandchildren, Logan, Lucas, Sophie and Rachael; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. John Stepp and Dr. Carlos Peterson officiating.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
