Mrs. Betty Jo Moore Winkler, age 88, of Athens passed away, Thursday, May 10, 2007 at Athens Regional Medical Center.

A native of Rutherford County, North Carolina and resident of McMinn County since 1949, she was a daughter of the late George Baswell and Lula Bell Bridges Moore and was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Garland Winkler on September 16, 1979; and two brothers, James Kessler Moore and Ernest Moore.

A member of McMahan Calvary Baptist Church, she was active in the Nursery Care and Adult Class.  She was a former member of the Home Demonstration Club, a former employee of Damy Industries and Etowah Industries.  Survivors: Three Daughters & sons-in-law: Ann W. & Eddy Lawson of Ten Mile, TN., Martha Jo Winkler of Knoxville,TN., Ruth & Donny Jenkins of Brentwood, TN.  One Sister: Mary Ostine Gawon of Forest City, North Carolina.  Two Brothers: Jack William Moore of Griffin, Ga.  Lloyd Pleas Moore of Delaware.  Three Grandchildren and spouses: Mike and Tina Lawson, Ritchie and Misty Lawson, Brad Jenkins.  Four Great-grandchildren: Dylan Lawson, Brandon Lawson, Gavin Lawson and Brylee Lawson.  Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 8:00 P. M. Saturday in the Chapel with Rev. Randall Bates officiating.

Interment will be 11:00 A. M. Monday at Tasso United Methodist Church Cemetery in Bradley County. 

Active Pallbearers will be Mike Lawson, Ritchie Lawson, Brad Jenkins and Dylan Lawson.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 Saturday.
