Bertha Lee Womac Wade, 87, of Athens, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008, at Etowah Health Care Center.

A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late James Luther and Sara Catherine "Sadie" Morrow Womac. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wade; one sister, Bell Sneed; and five brothers, Kit, Oliver, Paul, Melton and Edward Womac. She was a member of Clay Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include one sister-in-law, Helen Womac of Athens; five nieces and four spouses, Mary and Dewey Sizemore of Athens, Ruth and Dewey Wilson of Riceville, and Jane Brock and Jean and J.L. Rogers, and Tib and Steve McNutt, all of Athens; and two nephews, Cecil Womac and Billy Womac, both of Athens.

Graveside services will be 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at McMinn Memory Gardens with the Rev. Jack Bryan officiating.

Active pallbearers will be Dewey Sizemore, Detrick Sizemore, Cecil Womac and Howard Burke.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home.
