Barrie Leigh Wankan Sweeton, 33, of Riceville, died Sunday, June 22, 2008.

A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Athens, and an employee of Motel 6.

Survivors include her husband, Terry Sweeton; one daughter, Ashleigh Michelle Sweeton of Athens; her parents, Barry and Brenda Faye Henderson Wankan; one sister, Candice Burk of Knoxville; and her maternal grandmother, Frances Henderson of Englewood.

Private services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations of smoke and/or carbon monoxide detectors to the Athens Fire Department in her honor.
