Anna Ruth "Mamaw Dew" Willis Overstreet, 89, of Niota, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008.
A native of Rhea County, and a resident of McMinn County for most of her life, she was a daughter of the late William Newton and Victoria Brandon Willis, and was preceded in death by one infant daugher, Robin Overstreet; one brother, George Willis; one infant grandson, Freddy Clark; and one sister, Ruby Neal Willis. She was a member of Boyd Memorial First Church of God and was attending Victory Baptist Church. She was a retired employee of Ridge Textile of Athens.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Effaleda and Bob Lee and Jean and Ray Harris, all of Niota, and Annette and Jimmy Pressley of Decatur; three grandchildren and spouses, Scotty and Bonnie Clark of Decatur, Teresa and Lee Whitener of Etowah, and Kim and Corey Schiestel of Athens; five great-grandchildren, Nathan Whitener and fiance, Katelyn Bivens, Megan Whitener, James William "Will" Clark, Kayla Harris and Jayden Schiestel; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Eugene "Tiny" and Glafrey Willis of Athens, Jim and Sara Lou Willis of Maryville, and Jack and Flora Lou Willis of Austin, Texas; and seven nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Ollie Lankford and the Rev. Frank Kincannon officiating. Burial will follow in Pond Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Lee Whitener, Nathan Whitener, Corey Schiestel, Jimmy Pressley, Scotty Clark, Jerry Harris and Willie B. Clark.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
