DELLA ROBERTSON VAUGHN CARPENTER, age 89 a lifetime resident of Athens, Tenn., was called home to heaven Sunday, March 11, 2012, at Athens Regional Medical Center.

She was our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and a daughter of the late Luther and Bertie Rogers Vaughn and preceded in death by her Sister: Edna Watkins, Brothers: William Vaughn, Edward Vaught, and Great Grandson: Justin Jenkins.

She was a long time and oldest member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Decatur, Tenn.

Survivors: Two Sons and Daughters-in-law: Clarence and Susie Robertson of Harrison, Tenn., David and Jeanette Robertson of Athens, Tenn., Daughter and son-in-law: Roberta and William Womac of Alpharetta, Ga., Three brothers and sister-in-laws: Junior Brown of Decatur, Tenn., J. C. and Edna Vaughn of Athens, Tenn., Roy and Laurel Vaughn of Kingston, Mass., Mary Vaughn of Athens, Tenn., Edna Vaughn of Athens, Tenn., Three Sisters and Brothers-in-law: Bertha and John Thompson of Chattanooga, Tenn., Louise and Carl McKinney of Athens, Tenn., Catherine Wilson of Athens, Tenn., Johnny Watkins of Athens, Tenn., Nine grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Harrod and Rev. Jimmy Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Idlewild Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Russell Robertson, Robert Womac, Michael Womac, Bryan Robertson, Brandon Robertson, and Zack Robertson.
