WILLIAM J C LANGFORD, age 76 of Athens, Tenn. passed away Saturday, October 31, 2009, in Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tenn.
He was a native of Monroe County, former resident of Hixson, Tenn., and had been a resident of McMinn County since 1994.
He was a son of the late Jess and Elsie Cassady Langford and preceded in death by Brother: Charles Clinton Langford, Sister: Fannie Rae Langford, Sister and Husband: Vera Langford and James Deward Hutsell, and Brother-in-law: W. G. Dake.
He was retired from Dupont, Inc. and was a member of Sweetwater First Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army.
Survivors: Sister: Alene Langford Dake of Athens, Tenn. Brother and Sister-in-law: Lowell and Joan Langford of Powell, Tenn. Nephews: Gill and wife: Kathy Dake, David Langford, Niece and Husband: Debby Dake and Scotty Hannah, Great Nieces and nephews:Alison Dake, Jeremy Dake, Amy Hannah, Christy Hannah, Bob Hannah, Scott Hannah and Will and Kaylie Dake.
Graveside services will be held 3:00 P. M. Monday in Fender's Chapel Cemetery in Sweetwater, Tenn. with Rev. Jeff Wright officiating.

There will be no formal visitation and friends and family will gather at the cemetery Monday for the graveside service.
