DOROTHY MAXINE MONROE BUCKNER, age 61 of Athens, Tenn. died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, in NHC Healthcare of Athens, Tenn.

She was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, Tenn. and a daughter of the late George and Aileen Arnold Monroe and preceded in death by her husband, James Edward "Jim" Buckner on June 10, 2008, and Son, Tracy Lee Buckner on June 7, 2008.

She was a member of Rogers Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors: Son and Daughter-in-law: Dan and Christy Buckner of Etowah, Tenn. Daughter-in-law: Lisa Brooks Buckner of Athens, Tenn. Four Grandchildren: Megan Buckner, Maison Buckner, Mavrick Buckner, and Makinlee Buckner.

Funeral services will be held 8:00 P. M. Thursday in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Rev. Claude Irons officiating.

Interment will be 10:00 A. M. Friday in McMinn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday in thefuneral home.
